About

Ceramic and Sculpture Artist

IMG_7752.jpeg

My practice consists of intuition when it comes to ceramics and wheel throwing. I left the clay to guide my course and decide what I am going to make. Oftentimes my art focuses on the human body and the consequences that our actions have on both our mental and physical forms. I achieve
this by throwing a perfect and symmetrical form, and then hand altering the body of the vessel. The forms often radiate organic flowing shapes, connecting the body to nature and the decay that comes from time, ware, and experiences. Although my forms take on a more lucid-free form, all of the vessels are still completely functional and hollow. Having something so unique and contrasting from the extradition ceramic wheel thrown vessels, yet
there is still the similarity of functionality that allows for a whole new meaning to the ceramic art world. Art should be fluid and ever-changing, altering the traditional way of art-making. My practice does just that. I am influenced by the technical skills of Asian potters from thousands of years ago, and I am also influenced by the modern bodies and circumstances that are present in my current life.
